Outstanding Coach and Athlete Awards

At Rebound Sport & Spine, we value the dedication, work ethic, sportsmanship and inspiration that are inherent in sport. To help promote these values, we regularly present awards to local coaches and athletes that exemplify them. When we pick a winner, we surprise them post game with a certificate and trophy, plus pizza for the whole team! It is a small gesture to help recognize some of our most dedicated local athletes and coaches.

Previous Winners:

Curtis Zarrelli, Josh MacKnee, Rob McAuley – Langley Minor Hockey

I was delighted to award @langleyminorhockey coaches, Curtis, Josh and Rob for their outstanding job working with the Langley Cruisers team! Coaches are there to be positive influences, teach the kids to be respectful on and off the ice and help them develop their hockey skills and love for the sport. And these coaches are doing just that!

A team parent had this to say about them:

“They are amazing with the kids in the way they communicate with them, teach them and show them how to play the game. The dedication to each other as coaches as well as to the team is second to none. Having not played hockey growing up, I didn’t realize the time commitment, planning and executing that goes into being a coach – it’s incredible the training these guys receive in order to be leaders and teachers to our kids.”

I am honoured to be able to recognize the outstanding job Curtis, Josh and Rob are doing with these young athletes with some goodies and a pizza party for the whole team! Keep up the incredible work!

David Kernel – Langley Minor Hockey

Today I surprised David with our “Outstanding Coach of the Month” award. I visited his team after their game to let them know how awesome their coach is and presented David with an award and a team pizza party!

“David is an exemplary hockey coach for my son’s team. His positive and encouraging attitude is helping foster each individual child’s love for the sport. He makes both practices and games fun for all the boys and makes sure that every child is included and supported. His countless hours both on and off the rink shows his love for the sport and his dedication to making sure the team has the best possible hockey experience.”

Congratulations David and thank you for being an amazing part of our community. We are honoured to have you as our first Coach of the Month.

Jessica – Langley Rep Fastpitch

Last night I surprised Jessica with our first “Athlete of the Month” award! I snuck in at the end of practice and brought a special award for Jessica along with pizza and drinks for the team!

“Jessica is a team player on and off the field. This team practices 12 months a year and weather she is on or off the field she has a great attitude and love for the game. This past season while being a leader on the field and helping her team win a National Gold medal in Montreal she also stepped up to coach a group of 8-year-old girls to play and love the game of Softball as much as she does. The past week Jessica was out on the field helping all the coaches with tryouts giving back to the sport she loves.”

Congratulations Jessica, thank you for being an amazing part of our community. We are honoured to have you as our first Athlete of The Month!!!

Robyn Hillier – Langley Olympians Swim Team

I snuck onto the pool deck at the end of her swim practice to present her with a special award and a pizza party for her team!

“Robyn is in her 3rd year of swimming with the Langley Olympians and in June 2018 she was invited to join the Regional group. Without hesitation, she went from 1 day a week to swimming 4 times a week. She has amazed us with her dedication to the sport, the progress she has made with her stroke and her ability to consistently cut seconds off her best time.”

Congratulations Robyn, thank you for being an amazing part of our community. We are honoured to have you as our January Athlete of the Month!
